The ancient Greeks used Mint as admixture to the wines. An ancient Roman cookbook called Apicius hides a large number of interesting recipes containing mint.
This type of Mint is among other things, a downright female herb and is therefore traditionally used to treat a wide range of female diseases and also to relieve menstrual pain beside others.
Essential oil extraction is done by steam distillation of faded herbs.
Effects: The oil has a long history in therapeutic use to relieve menstrual pain. By combining local massage with inhaling this wonderful fragrance, pain relief occurs very quickly. Inhalation of mint (just 1 - 2 drops) acts on bronchial infections, sinusitis and nasal congestion.
