Myrtle heals, soothes and helps with inflammation of the sinuses, suitable also for children.
Myrtle twigs were worn by the Greeks as winners at the Olympics. It is said that on ocasion Aphrodite hid under the myrtle shrub and since then myrtle has been a symbol of purity and protection.
Extraction of essential oil is done by steam distillation of twigs and leaves.
Effects: It soothes the nerves and promotes a quality sleep. Due to its subtlety, it is suitable for children and the elderly with bronchial and respiratory problems, colds and infections.
Tones and cleanses the skin. It is suitable mainly where the skin is prone to acne or is generally problematic.
